By reading the following excuses figure out who spilled the jam.

    Answer- Maid

    Explanation-
The maid: “I was dusting the corners of the house.”
but House is Circular so, where’s the Corners?

The ‘straight-forward’ answer seems to imply that the maid is an idiot who thought of finding ‘corners’ in a ’round house’.

    But…

Nowhere in the puzzle it is said that, like the house, the individual rooms are round as well…! So, they CAN have corners, and the maid’s statement does make sense, which, in turn, makes the data given in the puzzle insufficient to solve it.

@viji- Great point, but there can be infinite number of possibility in the molding the data.

    But as per puzzle-

    1. Circular HOUSE is there and
    2. maid cleaning corners of HOUSE (not rooms)

So,In Simplest form statement seems, Its house’s corner which is circular.

The chef. As said: “One morning, Mr Smith woke up”, so its not too late in the morning (Although some persons are already awake), and there is no reason to start preparing Lunch.
