When they started off on the great annual picnic every wagon in town was pressed into service, each one carrying the same number of people.
Half way to the picnic ground ten wagons broke down, so it was necessary for each of the remaining wagons to carry one more person.
When they started for home it was discovered that fifteen more wagons were out of commission, so on the return trip there were three persons more in each wagon than when they started out in the morning.
How many people attended the great annual picnic?

The circumference of the Earth is approximately 40,000 kilometers, and someone has just made a metal band that circles the Earth, touching the ground at all locations.
You come along at night, as a practical joke, and add just 10 meters to its length (one hundredth of one kilometer !)
It is now one four-millionth longer, and sits magically just above the ground at all locations
How far has it risen … could a flea, a rabbit or even a man squeeze underneath it?

John and Jacob are on the two opposite banks of a river. They both have a rowing boat.
They both start at the same time towards the opposite bank. They pass each other at 180 meters from the bank where john departed. When reaching the opposite bank, they both take a rest for the same amount of time before they return. On the way back, they pass each other at 100 meters from the bank from where John returned.
John and Jacob both row with a constant speed, but Jacob rows faster.
