In 1967 Edward de Bono brings a creative approach where we need to use more reasoning and should think out of the box to solve problems as e traditional step by step approach is not good enough for some problems.
A classic such puzzle is :
There are three empty Bowls. Can you pour 10 sugar lumps on them so that every bowl contains an odd number of sugar lumps?
The trick here is to think out of the box.
No matter whatever combination you try, you’ll still be left with a bowl containing even number sugar lumps.
Here’s the trick:
Step 1)
Bowl1 : 2 sugar lumps
Bowl2 : 3 sugar lumps
Bowl3 : 5 sugar lumps
Step2)
Put the Bowl2 in Bowl1.
Now Bowl1 has : 2+3 =5 sugar lumps
Hence, all the bowls have odd number of sugar lumps.
