Animals in Friend Room

80.1K Views

You enter your friend’s room. He is not in his room. Although you see that on the bed there are two dogs, five cats, two giraffes and three pigs. Also, a couple of chickens and ducks are flying in the room.

Calculate the number of legs standing on the floor.

The question needs multiple assumptions to be answered:
    1. I (the person who has entered the room) have both legs intact.
    2. The bed is a normal one, standing on four legs.

In the above scenario, the number of legs on the floor would be 6 (four of the bed plus two, mine).  As none of the animals or birds are on the floor – a few are on the bed and others in the air – none of their legs count.

However, if the person who entered the room has lost one or both legs OR the bed has more / less than four legs, the answer may differ.
