If we add four times the age of John four years from now to five times his age five years from now we get ten times his current age.

How old will John be two years from now?

    John is 41 now, So, he will be 43 in two years from now.

    Let current age be X. Then four times the age four years from now will be (X + 4) x 4. Similarly, 5 times the age five years from now will be (X + 5) x 5.
    Hence, we have:

    (X + 4) x 4 + (X + 5) x 5 = 10X

    => 4X + 16 + 5X + 25 = 9X + 41 = 10X

    => X = 41.
