The question is faulty. It states: “A number of cats got together and decided to kill 999919 rats.” Note that the term used is NOT “killed” but “decided to kill“. ‘Deciding‘ to do something is NOT the same as doing it. It is possible that, even though the cats “decided” to kill so many rats, when it came to execution of the decision, they could kill just a few of the rats – say, 3 cats managed to kill 4 rats each. The conditions specified in the question are fully satisfied.
HOWEVER: had the question stated that “A number of cats got together and killed 999919 rats”, the answer would be 1009. (991 cats, each killing 1009 rats each. That would make the total count = 991 * 1009 = 999919.

The first sentence itself has the answer: Jacob.
It says “My name IS Jacob” – Means the person’s present name is Jacob. All other sentences mention the changes made in the past.

Two possible answers:
1. The man was looking from outside the building (may be from a ladder or an elevated platform or similar) through the window and jumped in.
2. The man was standing inside the building looking out through the window, and just jumped up inside the room itself – jumped in joy, may be because he saw / got something to be very happy. (The question does NOT say whether he jumped through the window.)This answer accepted by SherlockHolmes. on 24th May 2021 Earned 20 points.

Anderson, it could be – that’s the only possible derivation based on info available.
It is mentioned that Jonh had kept his wallet in his right pocket. (“… taking out his wallet from his right pocket…”)
Given this information, it follows that it is easier for a person standing / sitting on his right side to flick the wallet from his pocket, compared to someone on the left / front /back etc. Later, while playing the board game, it was Anderson who sat on John’s right, If John hadn’t shifted his wallet from his right pocket to somewhere else after buying the snacks, it is Anderson who would be in the best position to take it.This answer accepted by SherlockHolmes. on 24th May 2021 Earned 20 points.

“On a new year day” is not required in the question. (That itself is a huge hint,)
His birthday is on 31 December, and the meeting (and the talk) happened on 1st Jan. Hence, day before yesterday, i.e. on 30th Dec., he was 30, yesterday (31st), he turned 31, and on the last day of this year (31 Dec,), he will turn 32, and hence, next year, he will be 33,

You require 11 digits to print first 10 pages. (1 – 9, 1 and 0 for 10) Thereafter, every page require 2 digits. Since the total number of digits used is 121, there are 110 digits remaining, which can print 55 pages of two-digit numbers. Hence, total number of pages = 65.
The digit ‘9’ will appear on pages 9, 19, 29, 39, 49 and 59 – That’s a total of 6 times.- 2806 views
