    The keys on the FIRST ROW of the keypad (i.e., letters Q, W, E, R, T, Y, I, O and P) were not working. So, all the words in the letter were missing those letters.

  • The elder of the twins were born between 11:55 PM and midnight on 28th February and the younger one was born immediately after midnight, i.e., on 1st March, in a year immediately preceding a leap-year. (e.g. 2015) Accordingly, on 28th February next year, the elder one celebrated his / her first birthday. The year being a leap-year, the younger twin’s birthday, 1st March, came two days later, due to the ‘leap-day’, 29th February, falling in between.

  • If every penny I have is doubled every day, I will have $1 and 28 pennies by day 8. It will further grow beyond the $100 mark by day 15. In the next 3 days, I will be richer by a thousand bucks… Going ahead at this rate, I will be a millionaire by Day 28. To be precise, I will have $1,342,177.28, and  still have TWO more days to spare to complete the month…! (Even if I started on day 1 of February of a non-leap-year, I will still have more than one-third of a million dollars more than a million dollars at end-of-month.)

    Adrian and Betty had been teaching for a total of 36 years.    => A + B = 36  (1)
    Charles and Betty had been teaching for a total of 22 years.  => B + C = 22  (2)
    Charles and Adrian had been teaching for a total of 28 years => A + C = 28  (3)
    ……
    Solving the equations, A = 21, B = 15, C = 7

    => Adrian has been teaching for 21 Years; Betty for 15 Years and Charles, 7 years.

    Minimum number of steps: 4 (as each letter has to change at least once.)

    COLD -> CORD -> WORD -> WORM -> WARM

    OR

    COLD -> CORD -> WORD -> WARD -> WARM

    OR

    COLD -> CORD -> CARD -> WARD -> WARM

    In the given scenario as per the puzzle, the unfortunate traveller may or may not find his way to Mexico City, with equal probability. 🙂

    As per the statement of the puzzle, the persons whom the traveller met were “two friends standing at the road junction”, whereas, as per the question statement of the puzzle, the traveller is supposed to ask “just one question to one of the two brothers“. i.e., our traveller is supposed to ask he question to one of the “brothers” who have nothing to do with the “two friends” who always tell truth / lie. There is no statement in the puzzle regarding whether the “brothers” know the way to the City or whether they will tell the truth or lie, whereas whether the traveller will be able to find his way depends on these two factors. Since the factors are unknown, the ‘odds are even’ for the traveller to be able to find his way or lose his way.

    John had 100k (he HAD, but doesn’t have now), Jacob has 10k (Ok, he still HAS it) and Johar will have 200k (WILL HAVE, but not yet).

    So, there is no information about anyone except JACOB having any money NOW. So, based on the given info, JACOB HAS “the most money”.

    ZERO.

    The building is already “made”, hence no more bricks are required.:)
