A man phoned his son to buy a few things he needed for a trip. He told him he would find enough dollar bills for the purchase in an envelope on his desk. He found the note with 98 written on it.
In the store he bought $90 dollars worth of things, but when it was time to pay he not only did have $8 left over but he was short.
By how much and why ?

The envelope was up side down and didn’t contain 98 but 86 dollar.
So he came 4 dollars short.
