Fully grown beard in just small time

A man asked his wife if he could go to a friends party.
His wife agreed, provided that he was back before sunrise. He left the house that evening clean shaven and when he returned just before the following sunrise his wife was amazed to see that he had a fully grown beard.
What happened?
They lives in North pole or South Pole .In there time interval between sunset and sunrise will be equivalent of several days in another part
The party was a fancy dress party.before entering the party he used the artificial beard as a part of costume.forgot to remove it .(may be he dressed as Santa in the party)
Wife asked to come before sunrise, which necessary does not mean same night.
So man went to his friends party and returned after few days but before sunrise.
This is NOT possible, because the puzzle says “he returned just before the following sunrise“.
