Since no conditions are specified for the outcome (such as squares should not have any sides in common), multiple solutions are possible. One of the possible solutions is shown in the picture below. (The numbers indicate the matchsticks to be moved and their positions after moving, while the arrows show the movements.)
Alternate Solution with added conditions that:
1. The squares formed should NOT have any side in common (i.e., same matchstick forming side of multiple squares) AND
2. The output figure should NOT have any sticks that are NOT part of the squares
