Twins Story

Two boys were admitted to a school. When the headmaster asks them about their parents, they tell him that they have the same parents (father and mother). On further inquiry, it turns out that they both share the same date for their birthday.
“Are you twins,” ask the headmaster.
“No,” replies the boys.
Is it possible? 
It is possible.
Either they are triplets or they are born on the same day but different year!
The second option is NOT possible, because, if their years of birth were different (with same date), the Head Master could have noticed it right away, and wouldn’t have asked the ‘twins’ question.
