A man died, leaving $10,000,000 for his widow, 5 sons and 4 daughters. Each daughter received an equal amount, each son received twice as much as a daughter, and the widow received three times as much as a son.
How much did the widow receive?
Answer: 3,000,000$. Lets mark the daughter share as X. Then a son share will be 2X and the widows share will be 3 * 2X= 6X. Now we have 4 daughters, 5 sons and the widow so 4*x+ 5*(2x) + 6X = 10,000,000
so 20x=10,000,000 >> x= 500,000 and the widow got 6x=3,000,000
